Innovative Financing on Care Economy, Social Protection and Participation of Persons with Disabilities in the Formal Economy (COSP18 Side Event).

 
The Philippines' NCDA hosts a side event on innovative financing to advance health care, social protection, and economic inclusion of persons with disabilities, aligning with the 18th COSP theme on empowerment and inclusive development.

In support of the 18th Conference of States Parties (COSP) to the CRPD, the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) of the Philippines will hold a side event on "Innovative Financing on Care Economy, Social Protection and Participation of Persons with Disabilities in the Formal Economy." The event will explore interlinked strategies in health care financing, social protection, and economic inclusion to empower persons with disabilities. It will showcase government efforts, good practices, and challenges, highlighting the role of persons with disabilities in shaping disability-inclusive markets and informing inclusive policy and planning.

#Envision2030: 17 Goals to transform the World for Persons with Disabilities In September 2015, the General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Building on the principle of “leaving no one behind”, the new Agenda emphasizes a holistic approach to achieving sustainable development for all. The SDGs also explicitly include disability and persons with disabilities 11 times. Disability is referenced in multiple parts of the SDGs, specifically in the parts related to education, growth and employment, inequality, accessibility of human settlements, as well as data collection and the monitoring of the SDGs.
